Coffee

Coffee is one of the most abundant waste streams we work with, often sent to landfill despite its material potential. We collect and refine spent grounds, transforming them into rich, tactile surfaces.

The material brings a natural depth of tone, which we can preserve or adjust through pigmentation, creating finishes that feel grounded and familiar.

Coffee waste works particularly well in surfaces and smaller-scale furniture, where its texture and depth can be appreciated up close. It brings warmth to interiors and pairs easily with timber & metal and can be mixed with other waste as well.  Shell works nicely with coffee.

Its fine consistency allows for a smooth finish while retaining a natural grain, making it suitable for applications where both tactility and refinement are important.
