Mira Side Table

Mira was developed in collaboration with Aylesbury Granulation Services (AGS), an independent UK company specialising in the recycling of rigid post-industrial plastics. Every day, AGS helps recover valuable materials and return them to the manufacturing supply chain, keeping thousands of tonnes of plastic in circulation. Yet even this highly efficient process creates an unavoidable by-product: small floor scraps and mixed plastic fragments that don’t make it back into conventional recycling streams. 

For us, that was where the opportunity began.

Rather than trying to disguise the material, we wanted to celebrate it. The composite surface reveals a constantly shifting mix of recycled plastics, with flecks of colour and subtle variations in texture creating a top that is entirely unique. No two pieces are ever the same. 

The bold, scalloped form was designed to contrast with the intricacy of the material itself. Sitting on a simple FSC-certified timber pedestal base, the richly patterned top becomes the focal point, allowing the waste to tell its own story through colour, texture and form. 

Mira was first unveiled at Clerkenwell Design Week 2026 as part of our New Material Expressions collection alongside Daphne and Alba.

Throughout the festival, visitors were invited to vote for their favourite table.

The result couldn’t have been much closer, but Mira narrowly took the public vote.

That response reinforced something we’ve long believed: when great design starts with great materials, people don’t see waste. They simply see a beautiful object with an extraordinary story behind it.

Named after the Latin word meaning “to wonder” or “to look closely,” Mira invites us to see value where others might not, revealing the beauty hidden within industrial by-products.
